Husky ABCThe first dayWe meet our guests at the airport in Kiruna (90km north) or Gällivare (45km south). We travel by car in the direction of Moskojärvi. From there we travel with the snowmobile to the SnowTrail Dogcamp Lodge. (Approx. 3 km).The second dayAfter breakfast and some theory, we start with some practical experience and contact with the sled dogs and sled equipment. Afterwards we have time to take a walk with snow shoes in the beautiful winter landscape or we enjoy a sauna.![]() The third dayToday we start the expedition. You will be two persons per sled. The route will be decided after examining the weather circumstances.The fourth dayThe expedition continues, we travel with the sled dogs far away from civilisation, through the wonderful nature and the infinite vastness of the wilderness. We sleep in a heated tent.![]() The fifth dayWe return to the lodge.The sixth dayToday we relax and do some ice fishing, we sit on reindeer furs around the fire and enjoy the beautiful landscape.![]() The seventh dayToday we visit the world famous Ice Hotel in Jukkasjärvi.The eight dayTransfer back to the airport in Kiruna or Gällivare.The program will be adapted according to the weather conditions, it's possible that we will swap activities from one day to an other; i.e. day 6 will become day 7, or day 3 will be swapped with day 7. (Approx. 3 km).The second day:After breakfast with some theory, we start with some practical experience and contact with the sled dogs and sled equipment. In the afternoon we take a tour with the dogs where you sit in the sled and have your first experience of dog mushing.The third day:After breakfast, we drive by car to Gällivare, a traditional small City with samish origin in the far north, where we have the opportunity to visit one of the largest gold and copper mines in the world. In the afternoon we drive back to the lodge.The fourth day:Today we take a day trip with dog teams, where you have the possibility to run a team of dogs yourself or just sit on the sled and enjoy the ride. We have lunch by a fire along the trail.![]() The fifth day:The village of Jukkasjärvi hosts a unique building, built entirely of ice and snow. We are going to use this day to visit the Ice Hotel.The sixth day:We are going for ice hole fishing with snowmobiles so everyone can test to drive a snowmobile and try their luck with ice hole fishing.![]() The seventh day:What was fun we try again; mushing, fishing, snowmobiles. In the evening we have a farewell party with a chance to reflect on the weeks events and experiences.The eight day:Transportation is provided back to the airport.A taste of the ArcticThe first day:We meet our guests at the airport in Kiruna (90 km north) or Gällivare (45 km south). In the afternoon we make a tour with dog teams where you have your first experience of dog mushing.The thirth, fourth and fifth day:For the next three days we will go for a dog team expedition out in the wilderness with two overnights on the trail in heated tent or kotta.The sixth day:This day we use to learn how to catch fish in the winter. You will make experiments with ice hole fishing and there is also the possibility to try and drive a snowmobile.![]() The seventh day:What was fun we try again, mushing, fishing, snowmobiling. In the evening we have a farewell party with a chance to reflect on the weeks events and experiences.The eight day:Transportation is provided back to the airport.Experience of the ArcticFor this expedition we expect that participants are fit above average and in good health. In the afternoon we make a tour with dog teams where you have the first practical experience of dog mushing.![]() The third, fourth, fifth, sixt and seventh day:Expedition pure. We learn how to survive in the arctic wilderness, also in extreme weather circumstances. The expedition goes in the highest mountain area called Kebenekaise. Each precipitant helps to put up the tent, cook, cut wood, etc.We mush daily, weather permitting, and depending on the condition of the participants. The eight day:Transportation is provided back to the airport.Services and equipment included:
Our tours are always guided by two guides. The expeditions goes through the wildest and most beautiful region of Scandinavia. We mush over Tundras, Tajgas, Fells (mountains) and frozen lakes and rivers. Before we leave, you will learn the necessary basics and on the trail you will also receive competent help. The safety of each participant is of the upmost important to us. Live like a family member at the
